New digis and a new challenge at Some Odd Girl!

Happy Tuesday, everybody! You know that today is new digi day at Some Odd Girl, right? Get ready for some coloring fun with “Jump Rope Tia“! She joins “Skateboard Tobie” today in the Some Odd Girl Store!

Some Odd Girl Stamps supplies: “Jump Rope Tia” digital stamp. Other supplies: patterned paper “Cut & Paste” – American Crafts/Amy Tangerine; sentiment sticker – Simple Stories; enamel dots – My Mind’s Eye.
Isn’t she cute? I had fun coloring her, especially because she reminds me of the fun I used to have as a kid!

I’m not much of an outdoors person anymore, but I spent lots of my younger years in summertime riding a bike, roller skating, or playing outside…I’m much more worried about tripping over something or embarrassing myself if I tried any of that today!

And, there’s a new challenge kicking off today in our Facebook group! Our theme for this 2-week challenge is “Wishy Washi”, so break out your Some Odd Girl images and your washi tape and join us! My card for the challenge features one of the bunnies from the new “Hip Hop Hooray” clear stamp set!

I attached two strips of washi tape to white cardstock, trimmed the tape-covered strips, and folded them to look like ribbon loops!
Don’t forget, our challenges have moved from the Some Odd Girl blog to the new Facebook group! If you’re not a member, pop over and join us! And, for all the latest and ODD-est news, make sure you’ve signed up for the SOG newsletter!

Thanks so much for stopping by today! Hope you enjoyed today’s projects!

Hugs,

Hip Hop Hooray! Some Odd Girl’s April Release – 2nd Day!

Hi, everybody! Welcome to the second day of the April clear stamp release at Some Odd Girl! Today’s projects will have you shouting “HIP HOP HOORAY”, which also happens to be the name of this adorable set!
Since I couldn’t choose between the set’s two bunnies for my project, I made a tag with each of them! The carrot is a separate stamp from the set, and I masked it onto each bunny. Aren’t they cute? I love how soft and spring-y they are!
Some Odd Girl supplies: image and sentiment stamps: “Hip Hop Hooray” clear stamp set. Other supplies: patterned paper: “Fresh Cut” 6×6 pad – Basic Grey; buttons, border strips and product packaging: SEI. coloring medium: Copic markers; foam squares, twine; pearl accents: Prima, ink: Memento Tuxedo Black, Teal Zeal – Tsukineko.
Not only are there new clear stamps in the Some Odd Girl Store, two new digital stamps are making their debut today! Check out “Bug Catcher Tobie” and his jar of (organically awesome) fireflies:
Some Odd Girl supplies: digital stamp: “Firefly Tobie”; sentiment stamp: “Hipster Kody” clear stamp set. Other supplies: patterned paper: “This & That – Charming 6×6 paper pad” – Echo Park Paper; wood veneer stars: Studio Calico; coloring medium: Copic markers; Ranger Glossy Accents, Stickles.

I’m back on the Some Odd Girl Stamps Team!

Hi, everybody! I can finally let you in on some news I’ve been waiting to share…I’m going to be on the Some Odd Girl team for another year! WOOHOO! We’re gearing up for what’s going to be another AH-MAY-ZING term, and you’ll love what we’re working on!
Today, I’m sharing my favorite project from the past term. You may remember the “Daffodil Fairy” digital stamp, which was released in mid-February:
It was so hard to pick my favorite project, but I kept going back to this little cutie. She makes me smile, and I’m pretty pleased with how the shading came out on her flower and dress. And, I love the paper collection that I used on the card! (You can find all of the details on this card at my original post.)
What’s new this time around is that Some Odd Girl will have two Design Teams, one for Clear Stamps and one for Digital Stamps! I’m pleased to say that I’ll be sharing projects with both the clear and digital stamps this term, and bringing you more tutorials and inspiration, too!
You’ll also want to join us next week as we kick off Clear Stamp Release Week at Some Odd Girl! (And, I hear that there will also be a few new digi stamps in the store on Tuesday)! See you then!
Hugs,

It’s Digi Release Day at Some Odd Girl!

Hi, everybody! Hope your week is off to a good start! I’ve been doing a lot of coloring, and am trying to work on shading and light sources. Even though I’ve been through both of the Copic certification classes, there’s still so much to learn!
Images like the “Grands” digis at Some Odd Girl are great for practicing shading techniques. For today’s card, I worked on creating more dimension in the face and the clothing. The main image, “Grandpa Feeds the Ducks“, is one of two new digis in the Some Odd Girl store:
Because the paper was so bright and kind of busy, I went with a softer mat panel under the main images. I didn’t want to make it plain white because of the ducks, so I chose a light blue woodgrain pattern from my stash. I also made a custom accent by stamping a sentiment from the “Make A Statement” clear set on a piece of adhesive cork.
Did you have a chance to stop by the Some Odd Girl blog yesterday to check out my inspiration post? I made a felt coffee sleeve, stamped a few images from my Some Odd Girl clear stamps onto pieces of felt, then stitched them to decorate the sleeve!
Here’s a look at the front of the sleeve:
Before I sign off for today, make sure that you sign up for the Some Odd Girl newsletter if you haven’t already! You don’t want to miss any of the ODD news, sales and exclusives!

And, don’t forget that you still have a few days to get GOLDEN with us! Time’s running out on our March challenge, so make sure you link up before it closes!

SOG’s new digis = warm weather fun!

Hey, everybody! It’s time for a new digi stamp release at Some Odd Girl, and I’ve gotta say, today’s pair of digis have got me looking forward to some warm weather fun! First up is “Bubbles Tia“:
SOG supplies: “Bubbles Tia” digi stamp, sentiment from “Breakfast Friends” clear set. Designer Paper: “It’s A Celebration” 6×6 pad – Carta Bella, assorted Copic markers, Stickles, translucent sequins, Ranger Glossy Accents.
I loved blowing bubbles as a kid; how about you? I used some translucent sequins as accents near the sentiment, which is from the “Breakfast Friends” clear set…but it also works well with this digi! I also used some Stickles on the balloons and sealed them with Glossy Accents to give them some dimension.
My second card for today features “Hula Hoop Mae“:

SOG supplies: “Hula Hoop Mae” digital stamp, sentiment from “Flirty Mae” clear stamp set. Other supplies: Designer Paper: “Sketchbook” 6×6 paper pad – Amy Tangerine, foam tape, neon pink ink (Hero Arts), sequins, assorted Copic markers.
I also loved my pink hula hoop, although I seem to have lost my coordination for it now that I’m older. Maybe it’s time to get another one and change that!
The sentiment on this card is from the “Flirty Mae” clear set. I masked the speech bubble tail so that it would stamp as a circle instead!
Our Spring Social kicked off yesterday with all of the details and the first clue to the week-long scavenger hunt included in the newsletter. Make sure to sign up for the newsletter if you don’t get it! There’s still time to join all the fun, so make sure you’re a member of our Facebook group to play with us!
Thanks so much for stopping by today! Hope you’re having a wonderful week!

Hi, Oddies! It’s our last digi release in February, and I’ve made another card featuring the “grands” to share with you today! Here’s “Grand Dance”, one of two new digi stamps available today in the Some Odd Girl Store:

A FAIRY wonderful digi release at Some Odd Girl!

Hi, everybody! Can I just say that I’m SO over winter? We got pummeled with snow late last week, and while I have experience driving and walking in it, the “fun” of it wore off a long time ago!

Because I’m looking forward to Spring (and I’m sure you are, too), I’m sharing two cards that I made with the newest digi stamps at Some Odd Girl! Both of the images and cards make me smile and put me in a Spring-time frame of mind!

First up is “Daydreaming Fairy“:
Some Odd Girl supplies: digital stamp (“Daydreaming Fairy”) Other supplies: patterned paper (American Crafts/Dear Lizzy), washi tape (We R Memory Keepers – yellow, orange, blue; Little B – gold lace), rub-on letters (American Crafts/Pebbles), circle punch, assorted Copic markers, Stickles glitter glue.

And next is “Daffodil Fairy“:

Some Odd Girl supplies: digital stamp (“Daffodil Fairy”), clear stamp (“Sunny Mae“); Other supplies: patterned paper (“Park Bench” 6×6 pad – Fancy Pants Designs), Assorted Copic markers, Stickles glitter glue, opaque white marker.

Can you tell that I spent lots of time on the shadows and shading? I’m really trying to improve my technique with pleats and shading and light. I’ve found the best way to get better is to practice! And, there are so many awesome technique videos out there, and I definitely look them up when I’m stumped! (Kristy has lots of live color along videos on the Some Odd Girl UStream channel!)

The layouts for both cards were inspired by the current Deconstructed Sketch (#138):

Thanks so much for stopping by today! I hope I brought you some sunshine with these cards…and I hope you have a wonderful week! Don’t forget, there’s still time to show us your mad misting or masking skills (or both)! Make sure to link up your entry at the SOG blog!

And, in case you haven’t heard, we’ve changed from the old ning community to a new group on Facebook…there are lots of fans chatting and sharing their Oddest creations already, so make sure you get in on the fun ASAP!

Hugs,
