colourQ #98

Happy Tuesday and welcome back for another colourQ challenge (#98), which is inspired by these cool crocheted flowers and leaves:
I kept my card relatively simple:
Supplies: card base, cardstock (Soft Suede – Stampin’ Up!), patterned paper (Cosmo Cricket Nutmeg – green woodgrain, Sassafrass Nerdy Bird – turquoise), flower accent (Basic Grey), Copic markers, digital stamp (Some Odd Girl Digital Stamps), sentiment stamp.
Hope you have an awesome week! Not much is going on here except crafting & catching up on season 3 of Damages. I’m hoping to get out this week to get my bangs trimmed before I meet up with some crafty friends on Friday evening!

The black paired with the bright colors inspired me to create this rockin’ card:

Supplies: Designer paper and cardstock (Stampin’ Up!), embossing folders (Sizzix), guitar stamps & sentiment (a Muse Studio), adhesive rhinestones, Spellbinders circle die, ink (Tsukineko Brilliance), ribbon.

colourQ #96

Happy Tuesday and welcome back for another colourQ challenge! This week’s colors were inspired by some beautiful bedding:
And those colors inspired me to create this nautical card:

Supplies: image and sentiment stamps (a Muse Studio), cardstock (Stampin’ Up!), card base, border punch (EK Success), brads, Copic markers, striped paper (Echo Park Dots & Stripes), rhinestone, ink (Tsukineko Brilliance in Graphite Black)
Thanks so much for stopping by!

colourQ #95

Happy Tuesday and welcome back for another colourQ challenge! This week’s colourQ was inspired by this cute owl figurine and features three new Stampin’ Up! colors:
Here’s my card for this week:

Supplies: cardstock (Stampin’ Up!), embossing folder (Sizzix), stamps (aMuse), Copic markers, ink (Stampin’ Up!).
This card was relatively simple to put together, and it’s also a gate fold card. Both the image block and the sentiment block are only adhered on the left side to allow the card to open. I used temporary adhesive to stick them down to take the picture.

Happy Tuesday and welcome back for another colourQ challenge (#94)!  The colors are great, but it’s not often that I use so many bold colors like these in one card! I’ll admit, this one had me stumped for a little while!

Here’s what I came up with for my card:

Supplies: sentiment sticker (SRM Stickers), card base, border punch (Fiskars), buttons, twine, paper flowers, Rich Razzleberry cardstock (Stampin’ Up!), yellow paper (Cosmo Cricket DeLovely), word stamp (Technique Tuesday), ink (Stampin’ Up!), orange paper (Basic Grey Life of the Party).

colourQ #93

Happy Tuesday and welcome back for a closer look at my card for this week’s colourQ challenge (#93)!
Here’s this week’s colour combo for you to play with:
And here’s my card!

Supplies: Patterned paper (Hobby Lobby brand), embossing folder (Sizzix), typed sentiment, image stamp (DeNami Designs – crab; The Rubber Cafe’ – party hat), ribbon, Copic markers, cardstock (Stampin’ Up!).
Sometimes I run out of cardstock in the challenge colors, so I try to match the colors with paper that I have…in this case, I got very lucky and found some paper in my stash that is pretty close to most of the colors! I bought it several years ago at Hobby Lobby, so I’m not sure if it’s still sold there.
Thanks so much for stopping by!

colourQ #92

Happy Tuesday and welcome back for another colourQ challenge (#92)!  Hope you had a safe and fun holiday weekend if you’re in the U.S.A.!
We had a very low-key weekend; we bought a little gas grill and cooked hamburgers & hot dogs. We were able to watch fireworks from our apartment balcony since so many of our neighbors had bought some!
Here’s our set of colors for this week’s challenge!
The clock that inspired the color combo had me thinking of science fiction from the 50’s or 60’s, so I also used that inspiration for my card:

Supplies: robot stamp (DeNami Designs), typed sentiment, background paper made with self-drawn digital elements, cardstock (Stampin’ Up!), embossing folder (Sizzix), Copic markers, green paper (Crate Paper).
Thanks for stopping by!

colourQ #91

Happy Tuesday and welcome back for another colourQ challenge (#91)! This week’s color combo is great for any patriotic crafting projects you’ve been thinking about:
Here’s my card for this week! I stamped the star patterns on scraps of paper, added Stickles, then cut out strips to alternate on the background:
Supplies: stamp (We R Memory Keepers), ink (Night of Navy, Real Red – Stampin’ Up!), canvas star accent (Jillibean Soup), gems recolored with Copic markers, sentiment sticker (SRM Stickers).
I only used a little bit of burgundy on my card (it’s what the strips of blue and red fireworks are mounted on) and used silver/gray paper as another mat and to add contrast.
Hope you have a wonderful 4th of July weekend! We’re not planning anything special this year…I’m hoping to get some more crafting done this weekend and also to start purging my unused supplies!

colourQ #90

Happy Tuesday and welcome back for another colourQ challenge! This week’s set of colors will get you into the “swim” of crafting! I’m blogging from the road again this week…It’s nice to travel for a while, but I miss my usual crafting time!

I made this card before I left home…I really thought about how I wanted to work in all the colors, and after several attempts that I didn’t like as much, I came up with this…I’m really happy with it:

Other supplies: stamp set (My Mind’s Eye, Stella & Rose collection), sentiment stamp (Technique Tuesday), embossing folder (Sizzix), border punch (Fiskars), patterned paper (My Mind’s Eye Lime Twist collection – Out of the Blue mini pad)

I made the patterned paper by stamping the doilies with Brilliant Blue ink on Bashful Blue-ish cardstock. To work in the white and turquoise, I embossed a strip of cardstock and added border punched strips to the top and bottom. I matted the sentiment on some poppy-ish paper and glued on some pearls to the bottom to balance out the design.

colourQ #89

Happy Tuesday and welcome back for another colourQ challenge (#89)! I used this week’s color set to make the Father’s Day card that I sent to my Daddy…I think these colors are perfect for a Father’s Day or other masculine card:

I used the Bravo Burgundy and some Dusty Durango (it was the closest I had to Cajun Craze) as mats for my  tool digis. I drew the tools and made patterned paper out of them because I couldn’t find the specific tools or the size I was looking for.
I drew them in a sketchbook, then scanned them in and re-traced them in Photoshop Elements. The screws are mini screw brads by Tim Holtz.

Other supplies: embossing folder (Sizzix – Tim Holtz and Basic Grey), Copic markers, Glossy Accents, brads, typed sentiment, grey plaid patterned paper (Fancy Pants), digital stamps (drawn by me), cardstock (Stampin’ Up!)
Thanks so much for stopping by! I can’t wait to see what you’ll create with this week’s colourQ
