Lawnscaping Challenge #144

Hi, everybody! It’s time for a new Lawnscaping challenge! I hope you’ll join in this one, as unfortunately, it is our last!

After five wonderful years of challenges inspired by the FABULOUS line of Lawn Fawn stamps, papers, inks, and accents, we’re wrapping up our final challenge with the theme of Christmas (or any other holiday you celebrate at this time of year)!

I made this card with stamps from Lawn Fawn‘s Winter Alpaca and Baaah Humbug sets:

The plaid paper is from the Perfectly Plaid Christmas petite paper pack. I stamped the sentiment on a strip of wood veneer tape. The tree is from the Cheery Christmas stamp set. I added some sequins to the tree and gave the critters some fluff with Liquid Applique (heated to puff it up).

Lawnscaping Challenge #144 is sponsored by Lawn Fawn! One lucky winner will receive a stamp set of their choice from the Lawn Fawn store!

A Sweet and Sparkly Christmas Card

Hi, everybody! Now that I have a bit of a break from school, I can do a bit of crafting for fun! I made this card to send to one of my nieces:

I used some papers from Bo Bunny’s “Candy Cane Lane” collection from a few years ago, and The Greeting Farm’s Holiday Anya 3. I combined stamps from Lawn Fawn’s Cheery Christmas and Toboggan Together sets to create the sentiment.

I’m entering my card into two challenges:

The Greeting Farm’s December Farm Fresh Challenge: Sparkle!

Freshly Made Sketches #267, because my card uses their sketch:

Thanks so much for stopping by today! I’ll be back tomorrow with a new card for Lawnscaping Challenges! Hope you’re having a wonderful weekend!

Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L and Some Odd Girl join forces this week!

WELCOME, Odd friends!  As promised, we have an exciting week planned for you!  Some Odd Girl and Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L – we’re STICKIN’ IT TO YA!

Today marks the first of five days of bonding stamps and sticky stuff! It’s going to be a fun and inspiring event that runs November 25th through December 1st, and I’m part of today’s showcase of stunning creations to share with you while you hop!

On my card, I used Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L’s 3D Foam Squares – White Mix to create some dimension, and here’s a little peek at the layers from the side:

I used some of the larger foam squares to adhere the plate to the card front, and the smaller foam squares to stick the gingerbread man to the plate. I LOVE how these squares are separated from each other on the backing sheets…they are ready to go!

I’ll share a little secret with you…I am a foam square addict!!! I use foam tape or squares on many of my cards.

Sometimes I want to add support to a section, but it’s too small for a big square, so I cut them in half or into thirds before I stick them down on my project. It works great for a different shape, like the arms on the gingerbread man. With a strip of a larger foam square, the whole arm is supported instead of a part of it!

Here’s a picture of my card from the front! The image and sentiment are from SOG’s “Gingerbread Kaylee” clear stamp set! I made the plate by layering two punched circles, and drew in some crumbs with a matching pen. I used a scallop circle punch to make the “bite” in the gingerbread man’s leg.

And there you have it! Some Odd Girl and Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L will be sharing projects on their blogs Monday through Friday, and if you follow along and comment on each of the posts along the way (that’s 10 comments you’ll need to make, folks!), you’ll be entered to win some serious swag from both companies!

There are two happy boxes of adhesives from Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L and two $20 gift certificates to the Some Odd Girl shop to be won! Here are the main blog links: Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L and Some Odd Girl!

Be sure to make your way around to both blogs each day this week. You have until Sunday, December 1st at midnight EST to squeeze in all your commenting – we’ll be announcing the two lucky winners on the SOG blog on Monday, December 2nd!

Thanks so much for stopping by today!

Hugs,

Getting a head start on the holidays with this week’s GVT!

Hi, everybody! Hope your week is going well so far! I’ve been seeing lots of reminders lately that Christmas isn’t that far away, but somehow, it doesn’t seem like it’s that time of the year yet! I did make an ornament wreath, though…and I can’t wait to display it after Thanksgiving!
This week, Farmer Sandie is challenging us to get a head start on the holidays by making a Christmas card! So, I chose to color up newly released “Holiday Anya 3” for today’s card:

Ready to join in the fun? Here’s the info you need to know:
  • You must use a TGF stamp (rubber, digi, or clear) as your main image.
  • Entries must be uploaded via the InLinkz tool on the TGF blog at the bottom of the post no later than Monday, October 14 at NOON CST. You can add a direct link to your entry from your personal blog, SCS gallery, Flickr or TGF galleria. (If the InLinkz tool is missing, feel free to link your submission URL in a comment.)
  • The fabulous prize: A random participant will be selected to win a digital image of choice from the TGF store.
  • But, WAIT! Each week, our friends have the opportunity to DOUBLE that prize to either two digis or, you can trade those two digis for a SINGLE rubber stamp of choice, as long as we have 20 or more players each week, so encourage all your friends and family to play along!
Thanks so much for stopping by today! Hope you’re having a wonderful week so far!

Hugs,

Christmas Card Challenges Week 23 – Shaped Cards

Happy Sunday! I’m popping in to share a card for this week’s Christmas Card Challenge!

Our theme for this week is shaped cards, so I came up with this snow globe card:

Don’t forget, all of our challenges are optional…the only “real” rule is that you must create a new Christmas, Holiday or Hannukah card, then link it up on our blog so we can stop by and say hi!

It’s not necessary that you use a Sparkle Creations Rubber Stamp on your card, but we sure love it when you do!

Don’t forget to visit the rest of the CCC team to take a peek at the fun and festive cards they’ve created this week: AlannaCorinneJennifer, JovitaKarenKatieLeesaLorieMargoMichelePat…and our guest designer for May, Kay!

Christmas Card Challenges: Week 22

Happy Sunday! I’ve been slacking a bit on the Christmas Card Challenges lately…

I worked so far ahead before we moved that I lost track of where I was in the challenge list…here’s hoping this week marks the return of my regular posting routine!

This week’s Christmas Card Challenge is a sketch, and here’s my take:
Image stamps: (“Winter Fox”, “Winter Bunny”, “Winter Owl” – Lawn Fawn), sentiment stamps (“Signature Christmas” – Papertrey Ink), paper (“Christmas Wish” – My Mind’s Eye), snowflake accent (Imaginisce), various Copic markers, white marker, ink (Memento Grey Flannel).
and here’s the sketch!

CCC: Things With Wings

Hi everybody! I’m running a bit behind in posting my card for this week’s Christmas Card Challenge…our theme this week is “things with wings.” Here’s my take:

Supplies: patterned paper (“Nordic Holiday ” mini pad – Basic Grey), image stamps (“Nordic Noel” – aMuse Studio), sentiment stamp (“Christmas Sampler “- Paper Smooches), watermark ink, white embossing powder, kraft cardstock.
I find it much easier to do a Clean & Simple card when it’s not the designated theme. It must be all that pressure to make one that makes it much harder!

And it’s a prize week, so one randomly selected entry will receive a Sparkle Creations rubber stamp!

Don’t forget to visit the rest of the CCC team to take a peek at the fun and festive cards they’ve created this week: AlannaCorinneJennifer, JovitaKarenKatieLeesaLorieMargoMichelePat…and our guest designer for April, Kylie!

Christmas Card Challenges: Vintage

Is it Spring yet where you are? Yesterday was a BEAUTIFUL day here in Virginia…I really hope it’s here to stay!

For this week’s Christmas Card Challenge,  we’re making a “vintage” card, so here’s what I came up with:
Supplies: patterned paper (Authentique), metal die (Spellbinders Labels 25), sentiment stamp (aMuse Studio), watermark ink, white embossing powder, seam binding ribbon, lace trim.

CCC #16 – Sweet Photo Inspiration!

Happy Sunday, everybody! I’m stopping by to share my card for Christmas Card Challenges!
This week, we have a sweet photo to inspire you! Here’s my card:
Supplies: image/sentiment stamp (“Grace” – Kraftin’ Kimmie Stamps), patterned paper (“Handmade Holiday” – Simple Stories), embossing folder (Sizzix/Basic Grey), dies (Spellbinders Classic Ovals), sewing machine, Copic Markers, white marker, foam tape.
And here’s the inspiration photo! I chose the colors and picked a gingerbread image to represent the sweets.

Remember, all of our challenges are optional…the only “real” rule is that you must create a new Christmas, Holiday or Hannukah card, then link it up on our blog so we can stop by and say hi!

It’s not necessary that you use a Sparkle Creations Rubber Stamp on your card, but we sure love it when you do!
