CCC – Double Embossing!

Happy Sunday! It’s time for a new Christmas Card Challenge!

I can’t believe Thanksgiving is here on Thursday…did this year fly by or what?

We’re almost to the end of this term of CCC as well. I’m staying on for another term, and I’m also happy to report that I designed all of the sketches for next year’s Christmas Card Challenges…you’ll be seeing the first of those sketches in just a few weeks!

Our challenge for this week is “Double Embossing”…because I wasn’t sure what it was, I did a web search and used this tutorial for inspiration…you’ll also see that other members of the CCC team have different takes on this technique! I love when that happens…more inspiring ideas for us to share with you all!

Here’s my card, featuring Sledding Chloe from Sparkle Creations Rubber Stamps!:

Although all of our challenges are optional…the only “real” rule is that you must create a new Christmas, Holiday or Hannukah card, then link it up on the CCC blog so we can stop by and leave you some lovely comments!

We also don’t require that you use Sparkle Creations Rubber Stamps on your cards, but if you have them, we’d love to see you ink them up when you play along!

Don’t forget to visit the rest of the CCC team to take a peek at the beautiful cards they’ve created this week: AlannaBrigitteCandaceCorinneDeeKatieLeesaMargoMichelePat, and Stephanie!

Thanks so much for stopping by! I’ll be back on Thursday for our next Your Next Stamp challenge (unless I put together some cards to share before then)! Don’t forget to link your entry on the Christmas Card Challenges blog! See you there!

Christmas Card Challenges: Week 50 (Snowmen)!

Happy Sunday! I’m popping in today to share my card for this week’s Christmas Card Challenge…snowmen!

I got this little guy as part of a Pink Paislee wood accent set I found on clearance. I inked him with white pigment ink, after masking off his hat to color in later with a Copic marker. I sealed the ink with Glossy Accents, and wrapped some strands of twine around his neck for a scarf.

Other supplies: patterned paper (Memory Box), sentiment (Papertrey Ink), enamel dots (My Mind’s Eye), lace trim (My Mind’s Eye), twine (Trendy Twine), ink (Brilliance Graphite Black), kraft card stock.

Thanks so much for stopping by! If you’re in the United States, I hope you have a safe Veteran’s Day weekend. I appreciate all that our military veterans (like my husband and my Dad) do and have done for our country. Please take time to remember our veterans this weekend.

I’m hoping to get a few random challenge cards done today so I have something to share with you before our next Your Next Stamp challenge on Thursday! Don’t forget to link your entry on the Christmas Card Challenges blog! See you there!

Christmas Card Challenges: Photo Inspiration

Happy Sunday, crafty friends! Hope you’re having a wonderful weekend! I’m finishing up a fun weekend with some of my friends. It’s so funny how you wait and wait for something you’re looking forward to, and then it’s over before you know it!

This week’s Christmas Card Challenge is inspired by this photo:

Here’s my card:

I decided to keep the overall design fairly simple. I stamped an ornament image from Gourmet Rubber Stamps three times in different spots and then used a ruler and a Copic multiliner to extend the “string” to the top of the card stock.

After coloring the ornaments, I added a layer of Stickles. When that dried, I followed up with a layer of Glossy Accents.

Although all of our challenges are optional…the only “real” rule is that you must create a new Christmas, Holiday or Hannukah card, then link it up on the CCC blog so we can stop by and leave you some lovely comments!

Christmas Card Challenges #42

Happy Sunday, crafty friends! Hope you’re ready for a new Christmas Card Challenge! This week, we’re incorporating animal prints on our cards:
To be honest, this was a toughie for me…I don’t have any animal print paper, but I had an idea…what if I used paper that had animals printed on it?
I found this paper at a local scrapbook store; it’s from SEI’s “Silver Valley” collection.
Supplies: sentiment stamp (PaperTrey Ink), patterned paper (SEI Silver Valley; woodgrain – aMuse Studio), snowflake stamp (Stampin’ Up – Northern Hearts [retired set]), wood button, kraft card stock, VersaMark watermark ink, clear opaque embossing powder, brown seam binding ribbon, adhesive rhinestones, card base, corner rounder.

Christmas Card Challenges #37 – Texture

Happy Sunday! Hope you had a wonderful weekend!

I spent all day Saturday crafting with some of my friends at my monthly craft group!

For this week’s Christmas Card Challenge, we’d like for you to use texture on your card!

My card doesn’t have a ton of texture, but I’d say that the embossed snow background, the jute twine and the felt snowflakes would count, right?

My main image is the super cute Ellie Loves to Ski by Your Next Stamp! The sentiment is from A Muse Studio (Mini Holiday Messages set).

Although all of our challenges are optional…the only “real” rule is that you must create a new Christmas, Holiday or Hannukah card, then link it up on the CCC blog so we can stop by and leave you some lovely comments!

Christmas Card Challenges #35

Happy Sunday! Hope you’re having a wonderful weekend!

We’ve been enjoying the Summer Olympic coverage…the opening ceremonies were spectacular! Our favorite parts were the torch/cauldron lighting and the segment with James Bond & Queen Elizabeth II!

This week, our Christmas Card Challenge is…no stamping!

I’ll admit, this one was a toughie for me…I’m so used to stamping and coloring images, that it was hard for me to decide what I wanted to use for this card!

Although all of our challenges are optional…the only “real” rule is that you must create a new Christmas, Holiday or Hannukah card, then link it up on our blog so we can stop by and leave you some lovely comments!

I found some card stock elements from a scrapbooking kit that I haven’t used, and I still had the matching paper pad! They worked great on my card!

supplies: card base, patterned paper and cardstock accents (Echo Park – Holly Jolly Christmas), twine (My Mind’s Eye), buttons, adhesive rhinestones, kraft card stock (PTI), foam tape.
