Here’s my entry, featuring “Cowboy Josh” by Sparkle Creations Rubber Stamps, and a typed sentiment by me:
Other supplies: patterned paper (“Baby Jane” mini pad – Cosmo Cricket; “Acorn Hollow” mini pad – Little Yellow Bicycle), star die (“Whatnots Die Celebrate Set” – Your Next Stamp), assorted Copic markers, ink (Espresso Truffle, Rich Cocoa, Toffee Crunch – Tsukineko Memento), edge distresser (Heidi Swapp), silver pigment ink, clear embossing powder, silver gel pen, twine (Trendy Twine), kraft cardstock.

Seize the Birthday #11

Hi, everybody! Hope you’re having a wonderful weekend!
I’ve been trying to get a jump on my Design Team assignments for the upcoming week, but I couldn’t resist playing along with this week’s Seize the Birthday challenge!
I’m so happy that I got to guest design last week for the masculine challenge! Thanks so much to Lesley and the fabulous ladies on the DT for making me feel welcome! (You can check out my card for the last challenge HERE.)

If you haven’t had a chance to play along with Seize the Birthday, you should! You get to increase your stash of birthday cards for guys and gals, and you’ll have fun, too!

This week’s sketch is for a feminine card, so I paired some soft papers from My Mind’s Eye with this cute little monkey from C.C. Designs, and made:
Supplies: patterned paper (“Nostalgia” mini pad – My Mind’s Eye), image stamp (“Birthday Monkey” – C.C. Designs), sentiment stamp (“Fun Foodies Set” – Your Next Stamp), Copic markers, corner rounder, button, foam tape, kraft cardstock, twine (“Tickled with Teal” – Trendy Twine/Annie’s Paper Boutique), ink (“Espresso Truffle”, “Tuxedo Black” – Memento/Tsukineko.
Here’s the sketch for this challenge:

You’ll find all the details to link up your entry for this challenge at Seize the Birthday, along with the DT’s fabulous creations!

Moxie Fab World: Emphasize the Negative Challenge

Hi, everybody! Just stopping in this evening to share my card for the “Emphasize the Negative” challenge at Moxie Fab World!
In this case, emphasizing the negative means to embrace the negative space in your design. I have been experimenting with some alphabet dies on different projects and this card came together fairly quickly.
I lined up the alpha dies and kept them in place with washi tape when I die cut the strip of paper. I used the “b-side” of the chevron paper as a background for the letters, and stamped and embossed the “birthday” part of the sentiment.
Because of the simple design of the card, I decided to keep the embellishments to a minimum and just added twine and a wooden button.
Supplies: alphabet dies (memory box), sentiment stamp (PaperTrey Ink), watermark ink (VersaMark), twine (Chocolate Truffle Trendy Twine – Annie’s Paper Boutique), wooden button, patterned paper (woodgrain – “Pretty Party” – Crate paper; chevron – “Sweet Day” – Echo Park), kraft cardstock (PaperTrey Ink).

This challenge runs until April 1st (no fooling) on the Moxie Fab World blog…so there’s still time for you to join in, too!

Thanks so much for stopping by today! I’ll have my regularly scheduled TGF Farm Fresh Friday challenge post up shortly!

Seize the Birthday #7

Hi, everybody! Just stopping in today to share my card for the current Seize the Birthday challenge! This week’s card is for the girls! I chose The Greeting Farm’s “Anya Lifts” for today’s card:
I love coloring the balloons! I added Glossy Accents to the balloons after I colored them to make them stand out a little more. The papers I used are from Lawn Fawn’s first mini pad (which may be retired, since I couldn’t find it on their site to link for you).
Here’s the sketch for this challenge, which will also be the sketch for challenge #8, but for a masculine card. I’ll share that card with you later this week!
In related “happy news”…both of my cards for the last Seize the Birthday challenges were picked for “Birthday Honours”!

You can see them at their original posts HERE and HERE!

Things are going fine with our move so far. We are staying with a friend until our house is ready, so it’s nice that the road tripping is done for now…in about a month or so, we’ll be in the new house, and I’ll finally be able to settle in and start fixing up my craft room!
Thanks for all the happy wishes as we’ve made what we hope is our final cross-country move. It was a wild week of long days, bad weather, but we made it to the Washington, D.C. area and have started to figure out where things are. We’ll be moving to northern Virginia once our house is ready…I am beyond excited!
Thanks for stopping by today!
