Lawnscaping Challenge 134

Hi, everybody! Are you ready for a new Lawnscaping challenge? This time, we’ve gone over the rainbow for our inspiration! I made this birthday card for a little girl who loves horses:

I used the little confetti stamps from Lawn Fawn‘s “Party Animal” set to make a heat embossed background, then stamped different colors of ink on a clear block and used a water brush to “paint” over the embossing to create custom paper.

After stamping the unicorn from the “Critters Ever After” set, I snipped off the unicorn’s horn and placed a stamped flower over the trimmed spot to make it into a horse.

Lawnscaping Challenge #134 is sponsored by Lawn Fawn! One lucky winner will receive a stamp set of their choice from the Lawn Fawn store!

Lawnscaping Challenge 133

Hi, everybody! It’s time for a new Lawnscaping challenge! I hope you had fun with our last challenge! We had so many amazing entries!

This week, we’re inspired by a mood board!  What I find fun about this type of challenge is that you don’t have to be inspired by everything, but you can pick certain images to create with! I picked the color combo used in the images and stamped part of my sentiment on black card stock, then heat embossed it with white powder.

I die-cut the word “smile” twice: once from a sheet of sunflower Let’s Polka paper and again from smooth white card stock. I layered the two to create dimension and stamped the bee (from Lawn Fawn’s “Bugs and Kisses” set) to add another pop of yellow. The main panel on the card front is from the Perfectly Plaid petite paper pack.

One lucky person who plays along with us in this challenge will win a $25 gift certificate provided by our sponsor, Ellen Hutson! The deadline for this challenge is Wednesday, July 13, so make sure you link your entry at the Lawnscaping blog!

Make It Crafty CAS Challenge – July

Hi, everybody! It’s time for a new Clean and Simple (CAS) challenge at Make It Crafty!

The theme of the July challenge is to add a moving element to your card. I created a card featuring a “penny slider” accent. There are tons of tutorials on the web for making “penny slider” cards, and it wasn’t as hard as I thought to make one. I probably used more foam tape and squares than what’s needed, but I wanted to ensure that the card wasn’t off balance and was supported across the front.

My featured image is Make It Crafty’s “Carefree Elise” digital stamp. Because she is so detailed, I didn’t want the rest of the card to overshadow her. The sentiment is from one of many stamps in my collection.

Our challenge runs through the month of July, so there’s plenty of time to challenge yourself and play along with us! We can’t wait to see your entries!

Before I go,  I’d like to mention that this will be my last challenge with Make It Crafty. I resigned from the team with a heavy heart, as I feel that my next semester of college will leave me with little time for crafting, since it will include a part-time internship and more difficult classes.

Thanks to Zoe for giving me the opportunity to create in the clean and simple style with her fabulous Make It Crafty rubber stamps, chipboard and digis! Thanks also to the fabulously talented group of gals on the Make It Crafty team for being so wonderful and warm and welcoming. I feel super lucky to have been part of the team with all of you!

Thanks so much for stopping by today! I hope your week is off to a great start!
