Lawnscaping Challenge 122

Hi, everybody! It’s time for a new Lawnscaping Challenge (#122), and we’re incorporating watercoloring into our projects! Thank you to everyone who played along with us in the “Winter Wonderland” challenge! We loved your chilly creations!

I’m not really comfortable working with watercolors, so I just used them for the background behind the sentiment.

My original idea was to use the die cut as a stencil and heat emboss the sentiment, but it didn’t seem to stand out enough. So, I tried outlining the letters with a black pen and it went a little overboard, so I glued the die cut over the embossed part and thought it looked a lot better!

The rest of the card came together fairly easily. I stamped stars from the Lucky Stars set in a few different colors of neon ink, then stamped the outline stamps over the solids in black. I stamped and heat embossed the other part of the sentiment on smooth black card stock and layered a small strip of silver glitter paper over that.

Lawnscaping Challenge 121

Hi, everybody! I’m excited to announce that I’ve “moved up” to the Lawnscaping Challenge Design Team starting with today’s challenge (#121)!

Our theme for this challenge is “Winter Wonderland.” Usually there’s snow on the ground this time of year at my house, but I’m perfectly fine with getting a break from it this winter!

I featured the sweet “Winter Alpaca” on today’s card, and mirror stamped it so I could have two of them facing each other. I added the fluff with some Liquid Applique. (It puffs up when you heat it, so it’s perfect for alpaca hair/wool/fur.)

The papers are from the Let’s Bokeh in the Snow petite paper pack. I also used the Stitched Hillside Borders Lawn Cuts to make the snowy hills and the Toboggan Together stamp set for the sentiment.

MiC January CAS Challenge

Hi, everybody! I hope the new year is off to a great start for you! I’m still on a bit of a break from school, and it has been nice to get some extra crafting time. I’m mostly using the time to work ahead on my design team assignments, so I don’t feel so rushed when it’s time for classes again!

Thanks to everyone who entered the December challenge at Make it Crafty, “Cut Out Color Pop”!  I can’t wait to see what everyone creates for this one, because it was definitely a challenge for me!

We all love to color Make It Crafty’s fabulous digi and rubber stamp images, so it may come as a shock to you that our CAS challenge this month is “No Image”!

I used chipboard pieces from MiC as a stencil to create the background, and one of the words from the Doodle Celebrate Word Chipboard set for the sentiment and a stamp from my stash for the word “happy.”

I’ll have a new card to share with you on the Make it Crafty inspiration blog on January 9th, and I’d love it if you stopped by to say hello!

For more examples of the challenge theme and the details on this challenge, stop by the Make it Crafty blog and look for the challenge graphic on the right-hand side! Our challenge runs through the month of January, so there’s plenty of time to challenge yourself and play along with us! We can’t wait to see your entries!

Thanks so much for stopping by today! I hope your week is off to a great start!
