Lawnscaping’s Facebook Team November Inspiration Hop!

Hi, everybody! Although my term with Lawnscaping‘s Facebook Inspiration Team doesn’t officially start until December 1, I thought it would be fun to join the team for their November blog hop, which is on the last Friday of each month.
Our blog hop is sponsored by Spectrum Noir, and they’re giving away a generous prize pack of two sets of alcohol-based markers in BLUE and COOL GRAY!

Make sure you leave comments on all of the blogs in today’s hop, because ONE lucky person will be chosen from ALL of the comments left on the blogs to win the prize! (So, that means the more you comment, the more chances you have to win!)
Here’s the full list of blogs in today’s hop:

Suzanne – you’re HERE!

And, since BLUE and COOL GRAY are inspiring our hop creations, I came up with this card:

I used papers from Lawn Fawn‘s “Let’s Polka” and Peace Joy Love petite paper packs, a sentiment and some snowflakes from “Winter Penguin“, and images from “Winter Bunny” and “Winter Fox“. A few of the snowflakes are from the “Critters in the Arctic” set.
I hope those of you in the US had a wonderful Thanksgiving holiday yesterday! We had a very low-key celebration (just me and hubby, since he had to work today), I don’t plan to fight the crazy shopping crowds today, but if you do, I hope you find some great deals!
Thanks so much for stopping by today! Don’t forget to leave me a comment before you go for your chance to win the super cool prize from Spectrum Noir!

Lawnscaping Challenge 94: Count Me In! (and an announcement!)

Hi, everybody! I’m stopping in today to share my card for the current Lawnscaping challenge! The theme for this one is “Count Me In“, which means to include numbers somewhere on your project.
I picked some of Lawn Fawn’s “Sweater Weather” paper for my card, and chose to make it a school-themed thank you:
To work in the number theme, I made some faux washi tape with numbers from the “Harold’s ABCs” stamp set. I mirror-stamped the apple from the “My Silly Valentine” set, and used stamps from the “So Much To Say” set for the sentiment and the star accent.
For all of the details on this challenge, stop by the Lawnscaping Challenge blog
And, now for my announcement: I’ll be joining the Lawnscaping Challenge Design Team on December 1! I’m over-the-moon excited about being part of this team, and being able to share my creations featuring Lawn Fawn stamps, papers and embellishments!

I’ll have a new card for each challenge (which start on the 1st and 3rd Monday of the month), and will be posting a project on the Lawnscaping blog on the 2nd Monday of each month. I’d love it if you stopped by to say hello or to link up your card for each challenge!

Thanks so much for stopping by today! We’re still doing our best to keep warm here…hope the weather’s not too bad where you are!

Two new portrait-style digis debut at Some Odd Girl Stamps!

Hi, everybody! I have two cards to share with you today, and both of the cards feature new Some Odd Girl digital stamps! Both of the new digi stamps are available in the Some Odd Girl Store right now!
I really took my time coloring “Floral Kaylee” so I could practice shadows on her face and on the flowers. I also matched the colors in the image to the Sunshine Sorbet papers I used for the background and the frame. (The strip of polka dot paper is a scrap from my stash.) The sentiment on the card is from the “Geisha Kaylee” clear stamp set.

I decided on a bright color scheme for my second card, which features “Tropical Piper” and a sentiment from the “Garden Gwen” clear stamp set:

I love coloring Piper’s curly hair! (My technique is a simple one: a mixture of squiggles and dots in three or four shades of a similar color.)

Did you notice that I altered a Hexie Dot with a gold glitter gel pen? You can see more ideas and a tutorial on heat embossing Hexie Dots on this tutorial post that I wrote for the Some Odd Girl blog!

The new digis at Some Odd Girl Stamps are ready for their close-up!

Hi, everybody! I hope you’re ready for some new Some Odd Girl digi stamps, because I have two cards to share with you today! We’re continuing our “portrait” theme for this month’s releases, and I know you’re going to love these! Both of the new stamps are available in the Some Odd Girl Store right now!
First up is “Coffee Piper,” paired with a sentiment from the “Sweater Kaylee” clear stamp set:
If you’re looking for a gal who’s retro glam, you’ve found her! “Beehive Mae” is the perfect example of fabulous, and I think that Sunshine Sorbet papers are a fabulous choice for this card! The sentiment is from the brand new “Wink Mae” clear stamp set.

You’ll find more inspiration with “Coffee Piper” and “Beehive Mae” at the Some Odd Girl blog!
I had a post on the Some Odd Girl blog yesterday with some inspiration on making this mini note card set with the Sunshine Sorbet 6×6 pad and the new “Garden Gwen” clear stamp set:
I’d love it if you stopped by the Some Odd Girl blog to check out my project! Thanks for stopping by my blog today! Hope you’re having a wonderful week so far!

Garden Gwen is blooming gorgeous!

Happy Tuesday, Oddies! Welcome back for the second day of the clear stamp release at Some Odd Girl Stamps! My project for today is a tag featuring “Garden Gwen“!

I fussy cut the top part of Gwen and layered her over the top of the frame. Because the patterned paper I chose was sort of “busy”, I layered a sheet of vellum on top to soften the colors and design. I finished the tag with a gold heat-embossed sentiment, Blue Bamboo Twine, and a border punch strip of some Sunshine Sorbet paper.

Thanks so much for stopping by today!

Wink Mae is fabulous (and new) in the Some Odd Girl Stamps Store!

Happy Monday, Oddies! It’s a new month and that means it’s time for another clear stamp release at Some Odd Girl Stamps! We have a portrait theme this month with our two new clear stamp sets (and you’ll see the theme carried through in this month’s digi stamp releases, too!), and we’re starting things off with “Wink Mae“!

I stamped the frame twice: once for “Wink Mae“, and again for the sentiment. You’ll also notice that I chose some Odds & Ends for my embellishments: the Orange Bamboo Twine, Pink Bamboo Twine, and Sorbet Sequins. The orange wood grain patterned paper is from the Sunshine Sorbet 6×6 paper pad.

I’ll be back tomorrow with a new project and the second new clear stamp set in Some Odd Girl Stamps’ October release, and it’s portrait perfect! Make sure to stop by the Some Odd Girl blog for more inspiration with Wink Mae
