Lawnscaping Challenge #128

Hi, everybody! It’s time for a new Lawnscaping challenge (#128), and we’re changing things up a little with a sketch!

I love using sketches when I get stuck trying to decide the layout for my card. I’ve had several crafty friends tell me over the years that they hate sketches, or can’t figure them out. For me, a sketch is a great place to start. You don’t have to be “locked in” to use every element in the sketch, and you can rotate the sketch or flip it so that it works better for your card front.

For example, on today’s card, I chose images from Lawn Fawn‘s “Year Six“, “Party Animal“, “Summertime Charm”  and “So Jelly” sets and combined them to create a scene:

I placed the scene-in-a-jar in the place of the rectangle on the sketch. Instead of using two strips of patterned paper, I created a set of triangles to stand in for the stripes on the sketch. Here’s a look at the original sketch:
